Subscription update 31st May 2024

We’ve had a lot of enquiries and emails about the release dates of the upcoming print issues of Spoke and New Zealand Skier Magazines. 

Many Spoke subscribers were expecting Issue 89 to be delivered in March or April this year and our NZ Skier subscribers have been asking when to expect this year’s annual.

Unfortunately the answer is that we’ve been forced to postpone both of these magazines. 

My wife has been battling stage four bowel cancer for the past four years and her health has deteriorated recently to the point where I’ve made the tough decision to step down from full-time work to spend as much time with her and our young family as possible. 

This decision has meant we’ve had to postpone all our print production and magazine issues until spring 2024 when we will release Spoke Issue 89. The New Zealand Skier print edition will be taking a year off this year but will be returning with a new gusto in autumn 2025.

We’re sorry for the disappointment and confusion, it’s been a tough few months getting to this point.

In regards to all current subscriptions, we will honour all your active subs although the expected timeframe will have changed. If you’ve recently subscribed to Spoke starting with Issue 89 and would like to receive our current Issue 88, please email subs@spokemagazine.com and we can ship you out a copy. All other inquiries and questions should also be directed to the subs email address.

The upside of our break from magazine production is that we’ve focussed our attention to our digital platforms – our websites have had a freshen up and you’ll see a host of exciting new content coming through those channels.

Our editors Justin (Spoke) and Sam (NZ Skier) are busy planning and creating a bunch of content, reviews and competitions to share with you over winter.

Hopefully you can understand our decision making and continue to support us through our website, newsletters and social media until we return to print publications later in the year.
