Forty six Central Otago Polytechnic students have just graduated from a unique hands-on snow course that offers on-the-job training at Cardrona Alpine Resort near Wanaka.

Competitors and families arrived at Cardrona Alpine Resort this morning to clear weather and some fresh snow for day two of the 2008 Snowboard and Freeski Junior Nationals - the K2 Freeski Big Mountain and Snowboardcross event.

The first ever snowmobile back-flip in New Zealand happened at the Relentless Cardrona Games tonight. Paul Thacker from the United States showed a crowd of 1500 people why he is known as one of the best riders in the world at Cardrona Alpine Resort.

The first ever Relentless Cardrona Games at night took place in front of 2000 people at Cardrona Alpine Resort. Brett Turlotte and Paul Thacker showed what could be done on a snowmobile with some 12+ metre jumps. Luke Smith stood out with a number of FMX motor bike back flips, with the landings on snow.

Three Winter X Games medallists, one Crusty Demon rider, and the cream of New Zealand ski and snowboard talent have lined up for the Relentless Cardrona Games this Thursday and Friday.

Freestyle skiing, snowboarding, motorbikes (FMX) and snowmobiling mixed with live music and top athletes make up the Relentless Cardrona Games, the largest snow sports party and event in New Zealand and held at Cardrona Alpine Resort.
