Sam Smoothy wins FWQ at Engadin
11th February 2010
Sam Smoothy took out the FWQ tour stop in Engadin, Switzerland. A great result for NZ and Sam who placed 3rd at the same event last year. With Fraser McDougall winning last year means its a 2nd year running with a kiwi victory, difference this year is that it an official FWQ event. Gaining Sam some very valuable points on his quest to qualify for the FWT.
Last years female winner Janina Kuzma ended up in 4th place
Press release quote
'Sam Smoothy showed the crowd a top class ride. He completed his technical difficult run with the most fluidity and flow and therefore also the fastest. His clean sticked jumps convinced the judges. He won with 0.2 points more than the second placed Mathieu Imbert from France who jumped very nicely a double cliff. The third place went to Thibaud Duchosal and hence another French rider. '
