Freestylers ready for a rampage at The Remarkables

Many of New Zealand’s top freestylers, and a line up of visiting internationals, will go head to head in the Up & Go Terrain Park at The Remarkables this Sunday.

Competitors will vie for top honours in the annual Remarks Rampage Slopestyle on a purpose built course, aiming for their share of a prize pool valued at up to $12,000.

Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator for The Remarkables and Coronet Peak, said the event promised to be a huge day for competitors and spectators.

“It’s an international level competition and we’re expecting a massive show of riding and skiing from competitors including Shelly Gotlieb, Anna Segal and the Parklife Rider Team,” he said.

“Conditions couldn’t be better and the course is looking wicked.”

“Spectators will be able to enjoy great viewing from the chairlift or down on ground level,” said Mr Clark.

Categories are male/female, ski/board and open.

A practice day is scheduled the day before the competition on Saturday 23 August.
