Export Gold Xtreme 2008 Update 23rd August
We have the most snow ever on record at Turoa and 3.5m at Whakapapa. Early this week the weather cleared to deep dry powder! We have being doing a lot of digging but had some time to show you what it really looks like.

We will be continually assessing the terrain to ensure the finals location has many lines and keeps its gnarly reputation. We may consider moving the venue.
The light winds through the storm saw the pinnacles in the lee, this means the snow fell unaffected by wind. The high flyer chair on Turoa saw the same thing

Entry Forms
Are now online. Please email to events.turoa@mtruapehu.com or fax though to 06 3858992, attn: Tommy Pyatt. Be sure to attach a photo for the VIP pass. There is a max of 50 spots for the skiers so get in quick.
Judges
The Judging line-up is taking shape now. We are very happy to announce Hamish Acland as head judge. Tim Haggerty will also move from competing to judging this year. Richard Caudwell is back for a another year. There are some strong candidates for the fourth position but this is yet to be decided.
Prizegivings/Social events
The location for all after hours activity is now confirmed to be the Turoa Lodge, Junction end of Ohakune.
Transport to and from Whakapapa base area and National Park will be available. This will be a bus costing $5. More info to come…
Other information
The 7 day pass will be available again for $139! A great deal - a day pass is normally $83.
The Moro Freestyle Series K2 Skis & Boards BIG Air is the 6th of Sept two days before the Export Gold Extreme. If you’re planning on being here early. This is at Turoa on the Saturday.
