Ben Griffen and Sarah Jarvis crowned National GS Champs

New Zealands top alpine ski racers went head-to-head in their battle for the national giant slalom (GS) honours at the National Ski Championships today at Coronet Peak, skiing a challenging course.

Ben Griffin and Sarah Jarvis were crowned the Mens and Womens 2010 Champions respectively.

Griffin, of Ohakune, had another great giant slalom race and ended tied for fourth overall against the strong international field.  The strong field means that this race will likely once again be a low penatly points race.

The race was won by the Swedens Jon Olsson. Espen Lysdahl of Norway won the silver medal, while David Chodunsky of United States took out bronze.

Jessica Lindell or Sweden, won gold in the Womens GS. Slovakias Veronika Zuzulova secured silver and Lotte Smiseth Sejersted of Norway secured bronze
